John 2:6-11
Nearby
stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial
washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons. Jesus said to
the servants, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of
the banquet.” They did so, and the master of the banquet tasted
the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where
it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew.
Then he called the bridegroom aside and said, “Everyone brings
out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests
have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.”
This, the first of his miraculous signs, Jesus performed at Cana in
Galilee. He thus revealed his glory, and his disciples put their faith
in him.
Matthew
14:16-21
Jesus
replied, “They do not need to go away. You give them something
to eat.” “We have here only five loaves of bread and two
fish,” they answered. “Bring them here to me,” he
said. And he directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking
the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave
thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and
the disciples gave them to the people. They all ate and were satisfied,
and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that
were left over. The number of those who ate was about five thousand
men, besides women and children.
John 8:12
When
Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of
the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will
have the light of life.”
John 10:14-16
“I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me—just
as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down
my life for the sheep. I have other sheep that are not of this sheep
pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and
there shall be one flock and one shepherd.”
